I’m Prasanta Sarkar. I am the author of Garment Manufacturing: Processes, Practices and Technology and the person behind this blog. I have also written and published these ebooks.
I am a Textile Engineer (B.Tech) from Govt. College of Engineering and Textile Technology, Serampore, India. I hold Post Graduate in Fashion Technology from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi, India.
I have worked in a garment exports house in Gurgaon, near the Capital of India. I have also worked with an apparel consultancy firm as a consultant.
I have worked with many garment manufacturing companies in India and Bangladesh and conducted a number of training programs in industrial engineering, quality management, and sewing operator training. I have implemented the BlueCherry Shop floor control system (RFID production tracking system) in India, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Bulgaria.
I have handled many projects on productivity improvement, quality improvement, development of factory MIS systems, plant start-up and many more.
At present, I am associated with CGS Inc, an IT company as Manager service delivery and doing projects on implementation of RFID based shop floor monitoring systems in garment manufacturing companies. I am also involved in MIS report development.
