I have captured the eventful day in pictures. Let me tell you that I was part of the seminar organising committee and I was the editor of Tantu Annual Journal.
In the seminar, we had 10 speakers and 7 presenters from the industry. The panel discussions and presentations were primarily on denim and jeans manufacturing, its supply chain, sustainability and circularity in the fashion industry.
The day was eventful to me for many reasons.
Networking and Reconnecting
On the day, I met many industry professionals, my friends, ex-colleagues, media friends, students and junior. Few names I like to add to my diary…
Sandeep Agarwal, Editor and Blogger at denimsandjeans.com. He runs the well-known denim blog and organizes denim show. I know him for more than 8 years and met him first time in this event.

In this event, things that I liked the most – all the professionals love their business, love their working field – all innovative thinkers – everyone doing their bit to make this apparel manufacturing and apparel supply chain sustainable and their effort towards making our mother earth a better place for living.
Inspiration
When I listen to speakers talking about how we can make the fashion manufacturing industry sustainable, it inspired me to be part of the sustainability drive. For me, circular fashion, sustainability, circular economy, closed loop economy is the new areas to explore. I got many ideas for writing articles and blog posts.
On the other hand, I got encouragement from my super super super seniors like Chandan Saha da (Industry expert), Ravi Sir (Professor, IIT Delhi), Kalesh Nath da (Professor, TITS, Bhiwani), Arindam Basu sir (DG at NITRA) for my writing work and blogging. That is the true inspiration one needs to continue hard work without expecting any return.
Thanksgiving
I am thankful to Dr Prabir Jana for taking the lead for organizing this seminar. Let me mention here that he was my professor at NIFT. Thanks to all Tantu members. I can’t stop myself sharing the team photo, wearing a stitch-less t-shirt, whose efforts made this event a great success.
I observed a great energy level and learning spirit among the young engineers.
It was not only me who benefitted from the event. The speakers and other participants benefitted as well – many of them talking about business collaboration and working together for mutual benefits. Sanjay Goel, a NIFT alumnus and founder of two start-up companies, is starting a new business. He invites people from the industry to work with him in his new start-up.
