1. What are Body Coverall / Medical Gowns / Hazmat suits
Coverall/gowns are designed to protect the torso of healthcare providers from exposure to the virus. Although coveralls typically provide 360-degree protection because they are designed to cover the whole body, including back and lower legs and sometimes head and feet as well, the design of medical/isolation gowns do not provide continuous whole-body protection (e.g., possible openings in the back, coverage to the mid-calf only). By using appropriate protective clothing, it is possible to create a barrier to eliminate or reduce contact and droplet exposure, both known to transmit COVID-19, thus protecting healthcare workers working in close proximity (within 1 meter) of suspect/confirmed COVID-19 cases or their secretions.
Coveralls and gowns are deemed equally acceptable as there is a lack of comparative evidence to show whether one is more effective than the other in reducing transmission to health workers. Gowns are considerably easier to put on and for removal. An apron can also be worn over the gown for the entire time the health worker is in the treatment area. Coveralls/gowns have stringent standards that extend from preventing exposure to biologically contaminated solid particles to protecting from chemical hazards. 6. Coverall manufacturing machines requirement
PPE body coverall is made is two steps. First, a coverall is stitched using normal machines like single needle lock stitch or 3 thread overall machine. Technically an overlock machine is a better choice for all seams other than front zipper attaching as you can maintain equal seam margin and higher product speed. After stitching the body coverall, all the seams are sealed using a hot air seam sealing machine. Seam sealing tapes are used for sealing the seam.
Bulk cutting of the coverall patterns is done using the same method followed in industrial garment production. So you can use the same straight knife cutting machine. Further for sterilization of the finished coverall is done using sterilization machines. Folding of the coverall is done manually and each coverall is placed inside a polybag. 10. CE Certification of PPE Coveralls
What does CE Mark on PPE item mean?
The European Directive 89/686/EEC lays down the requirements for CE marking of personal protective equipment (PPE). CE marking can, in simple terms, be described as a passport or ‘license to sell’ allowing free movement of goods within the internal market of the European Community.
The CE mark affixed to PPE will provide evidence of compliance with which products applicable to EU legislation. It indicates risk categories of which PPE is intended to protect users, such as protective clothing complies with Category III is appropriate to prevent death or irreversible health damages. 11. What is the UCC Code
The Ministry of Textiles has laid down new norms, which require a Unique Certification Code called UCC-Covid19 and a tamper-proof sticker in indelible ink specifying details of the manufacturer. UCC is an abbreviation for Unique Certification Code. All our reports for samples (includes for fabrics, coveralls) that pass the tests will compulsorily carry the UCC. Failed sample reports will not have them.
