He pointed, garment manufacturers have a lot of data but they are not doing an in-depth analysis of those resources, which are key for process improvement. By using data analytics, companies can predict possible issues their process – where it is a quality issue, production capacity, material consumption and material wastage. Factories can pick right operators for a new order by utilizing operator skill history data.

I agree with Mr. Samath. First, let’s utilize what we have. Later think of establishing a smart factory.
We can I have seen many Indian garment factories, who don’t know how to use the data they are capturing using sophisticated software. No analytics. Garment manufacturers don’t have programmer and data analyst in their IT team for manufacturing operations.

I was part of a book launch program. The book titled Industrial Engineering in Apparel Manufacturing, Practitioner’s Handbook authored by Prabir Jana and Manoj Tiwari.
I have not yet written the most important part of the garment technology expo. I visited most of the halls. Sewing machines, automatic sewing workstations, embroidery machines, digital printing machines, cutting technology solutions, CAD systems, Sewing machine parts, garment finishing technology were main attractions of this show.
