Bharatha Egalahewa

Bharatha Egalahewa is an apparel manufacturing and productivity professional with more than 40 years of experience in apparel, home textiles and textile manufacturing. He is a founding member and former Director of Operations of the Garment Industry Management Institute (GIMI), Sri Lanka, with extensive experience in Industrial Engineering, Production Systems, Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, training and productivity improvement. Over the years, he has worked with apparel manufacturers and training institutions across Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Ethiopia and Laos, providing consultancy, training and development support to improve manufacturing performance. His areas of interest include Industrial Engineering, sewing-floor management, productivity improvement, Lean Manufacturing, quality management, work-study, line balancing, workplace organisation and people development.
